Car shows in reno this weekend

The largest nostalgic classic car show in the U.S. is returning to Reno this summer with more events.

Bringing a more than $100 million economic impact to the northern Nevada region, Hot August Nights has been longtime favorite summer event for locals and tourists.

The 37th annual city-wide event will spread across six venues with 5,500 registered participants rolling into the Reno-Sparks community for 10 days, attracting more than 500,000 spectators. Organizers say this year they are focusing on enhancing venues and adding experiences for attendees and participants.

“There’s really nothing like Hot August Nights anywhere else,” said Deny Dotson, executive director for Hot August Nights.

Certainly, there are classic car shows and there’s a handful that pull in big numbers, but Hot August Nights is the only one that takes over an entire town for 10 days with classics at every turn...
